  • In order to start with the registration process and to reserve space during high season (from May through July), the following Enrollment Form must be received at least six months before program starts.

  • During regular season, registration process could begin at least three months before program starts.

  • Last minute registrations will be accepted depending on space availability.

Observed holidays. Local holidays are to be observed accordingly and no work is required to be performed on these days: New Year's Day (January 1st); Juan Santamaria's Day - Costa Rican National Hero (April 11th); Holy Week (for 2022 ICLC will remain close Holy Monday and Good Friday, Labor Day (May 1st); Annexation of Nicoya to Costa Rica (July 25th); Virgin of Los Angeles Day, honouring St. Mary, Patron Saint of Costa Rica (August 2nd); Mother's Day (August 15th); Independence Day (September 15th); Meeting Among Cultures Day (October 12th); Christmas (December 25th). There is no compensation nor refund concerning these days.

Requirements:

  • US$120 nonrefundable placement fee
  • Payment for homestay accommodation for the duration of the volunteer work
  • Send to the following e-mail address: registrar + _at_ + iclc.ws
    • Resume including picture
    • Two recommendation letters
    • Personal letter describing yourself, explaining expectations and specifying why you wish to participate on volunteer work opportunity

  • In regards to prove of attendance:

    If you require prove of attendance of the volunteer work completed, you need to personally inform the Director of the work Institution at the beginning of the experience.

    ICLC Administration is not authorized to extend certifications or to provide number of hours attended at the work Institutions where students will work as volunteers.

Section G.  Terms and Conditions

  • If a change of plans in regards to scheduled tours and/or cultural activities occurs, the Institute will either plan another excursion or activity of the same value or the student will be compensated with the amount corresponded to that activity.

  • A US$200 charge will be requested for all cancellations

  • 25% charge will be requested for all cancellations if you belong to a group program

  • No refund is granted once the course begins. Programs cannot be altered or changed once the student has started the classes at ICLC.

  • I understand that if I belong to a group from a High School, College or University I also need to read and understand the terms and conditions from that specific Institution.

  • Should it become necessary to enforce the terms and conditions of this agreement with ICLC by any means, including but not limited to arbitration, negotiation or the filing of any legal action, the prevailing party in such action shall be entitled to reasonable attorney's fees and costs.

  • The validity, interpretation and performance of this agreement shall be controlled by and construed under the laws of Costa Rica.
